The town of Digoin developed its poteriy industry in the middle of the 19th century thanks to the abundant supplies of clay found along the River Loire.

To day, pottery, earthenware and ceramic product still form the basic industrial wealth of Digoin.

The highly interesting Centre of Documentation on Ceramic presents a full panorama of pottery and earthenware production techniques (6 rue Guilleminot, 14h30 to19h30 from June 1th to August 15th, and by appointement at week end ).
