Proposes in particular (article 2 of the statuties):

- To promote a coherent and concerted policy for the preservation and development of canal-linked activities.

 - To bring together individuals and organizations interested or  active in the life and development of activites linked to the Canal Lateral between Briare and Digoin, its amenities and its en vironment.

 - To establish sound and sustained relation with the managers of the canal, in particular VNF ( Voies Navigables de France or the French Waterways Autority ) and the Conseils Généraux ( County Concils ) of Loiret, Cher, Nièvre, Allier and Saône et Loire.
  -To broadcast information of interest to tourism and leading to a wider knowledge of the localities as well as other member sites. 
 
 - Ti help ensure the cooperation necessary at all levels for the optimum use of the finace and means available for the upkeep and development of the canal.
 
 - To promote solidarity and mutual support among users of the waterways. 

 - To represent and support the efforts of member organizations vis a vis the authorities, local government and other official bodies concerned with the canal, wherever such efforts are compatible with the spirit and letter of the present statutes.

 - To negotiate and sign cooperation agreements with our partners. 

 - To promote our aims and prepare projects for their implementation. 

 - To develop all legal means of attaining our aims.

 - To organize actions of all kinds to promote interest in activities linked to the canal.
